PostgreSQL..cant get it set up

Postby captain future » Wed Sep 22, 2010 4:34 pm

hello everybody,
im sure this is a new guy with an old problem. "unable to connect to database. please check the configuration"...is my problem.
im running windows 7
from here, i only downloaded pokertracker, and im not sure if postgreSQL was installed as well.
i once tried out hold em manager (the free trial, hud worked). i dont know if that means i have postgreSQL already, and if there is a password problem.
i have norton security(intelligent firewall, etc), but opened traffic for pokertracker....also any advice on that would be appreciated

apart from that, im pretty much looking forward using pt when i get it to work.
thanks for your comments

It's likely you have PostgreSQL installed if you never uninstalled it yourself. Try using the password 'postgrespass' (without the quotes) and see if that works for you.

thanks kraada,
that did it. looks like super-software. havent got the hud working but im only in a few minutes. thanks a lot though.
i dont think it imported all my files (from pokerstars). it def looked like it did, but it has only saved about 1200 cash hand histories from the 2 last months. is that a problem with the importing or do i just have to change the parameters?
thanks a bunch

If HEM moved any of the files, you may need to go find wherever they put them and import those files manually. Another option is that you have Stars set to delete hands after X days and X was reached on the stuff from a couple of months ago (I think the default is 30 days), in which case you'd need to e-mail Stars support and they should be able to e-mail you those hands without any problems (then you can import them using the Manual Import options in PT3).
