i still cant get ths to work guys,

ive followed the instructions, manually reinstalled postgres (8.3.14 was the lates vesion 8.3 available??), unckecked initialize db cluster (but dont think it said "a database cluster was located in the directory you chose") i copied the 8.3 folder over but dont think the db is starting up, its not showing in the task manager like it does in the manual and when i open PT it says "unable to connect to this db, please check configuration"

please help!!! im starting to give up on it.

Click Start (on Win XP click Run) type services.msc and hit enter. Locate the PostgreSQL service - is it running? If not, can you start it?

In the same services window make sure that Secondary Logon is running - if it's not, start it and change its properties so that it's run automatically. Then try restarting PostgreSQL.
