error message: out of memory

I am trying to import to PTS for the first time. After about an hour and a half I get the error message "Out of Memory." I am given the choice to Retry or Cancel. I hit Retry, again: Retry or Cancel. And again and again.
The hand history file is large, but I have successfully imported from the same hand history file into PT3 Holdem and Omaha. Is the file simply too large or is there something more going on here?

I assume you must be trying to import a huge file sent to you from PokerStars. Run PTS and use Utilities > File Splitter... to break the big file into multiple smaller files. If you don't do that step and just try to import the big file it will take forever and probably cause your computer to run out of memory.

After splitting the big file, move ONLY the smaller files to your PokerStars hand history folder. Then open the PokerStars auto-import window and click the Force Import button to import the hands. It may still take a while depending on how many hands there are so just let it run until it finishes.
