General Info. tab Total Hands

Postby diggingdeeply » Sun Oct 24, 2010 6:33 pm

Am I missing something?
Using the filters under Preferences to select Hi, Hi/Lo, and Razz, I get the following Total Hands:
Hi 9745 Hi/Lo 20067 Razz 7514 totaling to 37326
But if do not filter by game I get total hands of 45312.
I am quite sure no other filters are in play.
What IS correct is the Game Level totals.
Hi 37 Hi/Lo 41 Razz 36 totaling to 114
and if I don't filter by variant I also get 114.

THEN there's the Summary tab
It shows 116 total for Game Level showing total hands of 48,331
and hand totals Hi 10,325 Hi/Lo 21,417 Razz 7944

I just started using PT Stud. I imported all these hands yesterday.

What tab and data section are you looking at for these totals?

The Summary tab shows all hands/levels in your database, not just yours, so these totals may be higher if you have any other player's hands in your database in hands where you did not play.

More about my original post:
Refers only to Cash Stats. (I have not reviewed Tourney stats yet.)
The first paragraph of my original post refers to the General Info. tab, Player Summary.
(n.b. I just checked now and in the Session Notes tab the values for Total Hands and $ Won match
those of the General Info tab.)

There should not be any hands in my database in which I did not play. All the hands
are from one manual import. I requested from Full Tilt a complete lifetime hand history.
They sent one giant file which I then split using the File Splitter Utility.
But is there any way to TEST whether or not there are any hands in the database in
which I did not play? That is, is there any way to look for such hands?

After I wrote the above, I discovered something. In the Summary tab, in the lower pane, I manually looked through all the Levels and found 2 in which I did not play any hands. They were part of a mixed games table where I played briefly but never played two of the games. For some reason those hands were included in the giant hand histories file I got from Full Tilt. Thanks, Full Tilt. BUT those account for only 13 total hands, and the discrepancy I noted above is on the order of 3000 hands.

For starters, IS THERE A WAY TO DELETE FROM THE DATABASE THE HANDS IN WHICH I DID NOT PLAY?

Then, any further advice about the remaining discrepancy?

Follow up thought.
Maybe there are OTHER--like 3000 more--hand histories in the file from full tilt for hands where I was sitting out--hands in levels/games in which i DID play in, as opposed to the 13 hands in limits where I didn't play at all.
So, to repeat one of my earlier questions, is there a way to search/filter for hands in which I wasn't dealt in?

To remove the hands where you did not play - use the menu, Utilities > Database Maintenance and Options. Click the Advanced Purge... button. On the advanced purge window check the Observed Hands Only box and make sure you select your player name under My Screen Name Is:. Then click Start Purge.

Also, you don't need to remind me with private messages to respond to posts. I respond to all posts.
