PostgreSql problems,again

Postby gymrat9933 » Sun Nov 21, 2010 4:11 pm

I tried to open my Tracker3 the other day,and got instead of Tracker database...a "configure PostgreSql database" box. The info in the box was all correct(acct. #,etc),so I hit confirm. Then I get an error box saying "unable to create PostgreSql database PT3_2010_then my acct number.reason:unable to log in to database(template 1).reason:could not connect to server.connection refused(0x0000274D/10061).is the server running on host??? and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432". I all ready have this database, the support people at Tracker actually had to take over my computer and do it for me,but it's there. And since suppport did it,it's right. I've had no trouble out of this ever, since support cofigured it for me. Can somebody out there give me a quick fix to this?I'm a bad enough poker player with Tracker...without,well,lets not even go there. Thanks in advance. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Have you tried restarting your computer since this happened?

yes,its been restarted something like 30 times since this happened.I've even gone into my firewall(as much as I know how,I'm not exactly computer trained),it appears to allow all Tracker stuff through.

Please check our Firewall Guide as that can affect issues like this.

If that doesn't help click Start --> Run, type in "services.msc" (without the quotes) and hit enter. Locate the PostgreSQL service and attempt to start it. If it fails to start, click Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Event Viewer and click on Application in the top left pane. Look for an error in the top middle pane relating to PostgreSQL. Double click it to bring up the error message and paste or type it here or into a Support ticket and that will give us more detail as to what's keeping PostgreSQL from running.

Whiterider, you did it!!You are nominated for genius of the year(which would carry more weight if I knew how to SPELL it).The PostgreSql database was disabled somehow. All I had to do was move from disabled to automatic,(the other choice was manual),Tracker started right up. Thanks!

hi,

downloaded poker tracker last week and still haven't been able to get it to work.

removed UAC, deleted all 8.4 files, went to documentation, downloaded and reinstalled postgres. every thing seemed to work, then it says not installed. When I do ctrl alt del, and look at processes, postrgres files not there. It says to contact support, and sent email, but this is 4th email, and have yet to see a reply. Is this software that good? I've used 6 days of 60 day trial, and have yet to use it. Why is this so difficult?

It sounds like you probably have a partial installation of PostgreSQL.
Please carefully follow the guide to fully uninstall and reinstall PostgreSQL available on our Documentation page.

We do not have an e-mail address for support – if you're still having problems please create a Support ticket. If that's what you did, please check Support > My Tickets in the Side Navigation bar, and check your junk folders in case a reply was blocked. If you have a ticket with no reply please post the number here and we'll chase took for you.
