Stop Service on PostgreSQL

I read where you should not defragment your hard drive without first "stop service on PostgreSQL." How does one stop service on PostgreSQL? Thanks.

Click Start, in windows XP click Run (in Vista or Win7 just click on the box at the bottom left of the start menu) and type services.msc and hit enter. In the services window that appears, locate PostgreSQL, click on it and click Stop Service.
