Changing seat layout at Full Tilt

Postby darlingm » Wed Feb 02, 2011 6:36 pm

I've been interested in creating a different layout for Full Tilt. I'd like to be able to have all the seats in a single line, and get rid of the whole idea of a circular/oval table. If you ever saw Ultimate Bet's mini view years and years ago, much like that. I had an easier multitabling with UB's mini-view, and hate how awkward it is to play with a circular / oval table - with wasted space, trying to get the hud out of the room of stuff, etc.

Once a hand history is written, PT3 shows the HUD stats, but not before. Feel free to not comment on this exact part, but I take it that means that before a hand history is written, that PT3 is screen scraping and assumes default layout.

Is there a file I can edit to redefine where the seats are located, so PT3 will still work? I don't expect to be hand held, just hoping you could point me in the right direction. Perhaps editing something like Data/Layouts.pt3? (I assume there's no GUI way to do this, although I thought I remembered that you used to be able to modify the expected layout in a previous version, or perhaps that was editing the layout of the HUD, I can't remember...)

PT3 doesn't do any screen scraping. Once a hand is imported, PT3 displays the data for players on the table based on the data found in the hand histories. However, at Full Tilt if you use Auto Center you could easily use auto center with your mod which would have your opponents always display in the same location relative to you. Once you've got the mod set up, right click & drag the PT3 groups to where you want them to go, PT Icon -> Save Layout and it should work ok.

I have a thread that's gotten to be related to this one on two plus two, which Fozzy has been involved with so I'll link that -- http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showpost.php?p=24578664&postcount=11019

The problem is that PT3 doesn't seem to display the HUD information on the first hand played at a normal table, thus never at a rush table -- GIVEN that the xml file is changed to move pod locations. Mine causes this behavior, and a widescreen mod that madlion talked about on two plus two that moved pod locations causes the same behavior.

If PT3 doesn't do screen scraping, I'm not sure why changing the layout.xml file to move pod locations would be throwing off the pre-fetching.

EDIT: I should add that the clickable PT3 icon doesn't show up on rush tables when pods are moved, regardless of how many hands are played. It's like it doesn't see that there's a table at all. Although, watching auto-import, it's importing the past hands.

Rush tables are slightly different – we do not use screen scraping, but tables do need to be one of the standard layout. (At least they did originally, I will check if this is still the case.)

Confirmed - you will need to use default seat positions for Rush tables.

Any chance of PT3 being made layout-independent when prefetching? Would allow compatibility with other non-standard layouts as well. :)

Or, is there, or could there be, a configuration file I could manually edit to reposition where it's looking? {so it could work at rush?} Or is that hard-coded into the EXE file which would require a recompile? :(

Create a support ticket and we'll revisit this issue. You are only the second person to ask for this but I'm positive we can come up with something usable for you.
