Maybe I should clarify what's going on here, and I'm sure I'm not alone in facing this type of problem.
I'm in the Eastern North American Time Zone, playing PS tournies only (so I can't speak for other games/sites).

I have both PT2 & PT3 running together (for reasons beyond scope of this post). PT2 is auto-importing the table(s) at which I'm playing, PT3 is doing likewise, but also auto-importing the 30 PS-permitted observed hands.

In both PT2 (Tourney Notes tab), and PT3's Tournaments Tournaments tab, the tourney start times are correctly shown. Dates are yyyy/mm/dd HH:MM. No problem. (Please see the screen dump I attached to the ticket.)

PT3 then reaches the 30-hand observed limit, so I now want to import these observed hands into PT2. In PT3, Database Management, Export, Tournament Hands, Session Date, Specific Date, Today, Export Hands, select target folder, Export.

PT3 exports hands for what it thinks are that day. In the target folder, I see two files:
PokerStars_HoldemHandsExport_YYYYMMDDHHMM_tourney_00001.txt, and
PokerStars_HoldemTnySumExport_YYYYMMDDHHMM_00001.txt.

Now, here's the interesting thing: In the 1st file, the HH file - PokerStars_HoldemHandsExport_YYYYMMDDHHMM_tourney_00001.txt - the time flags are correct. For all hands in the file.
It's the SUMMARY which has the wrong Date/time flag. It's 5 hours earlier, so for tournies played (say) on Friday after 1900 Eastern, the Summary thinks it started on Saturday, after midnight. 5 hours later.
PT3 seems to be looking at the time flag in the summary to be exported, to determine which hands it exports?
Weird, huh? :o

When I import the PokerStars_HoldemHandsExport_YYYYMMDDHHMM_tourney_00001.txt into PT2, everything is copacetic, and date/time flags are accurately recorded. :D

Now, if kraada is telling me that the beta will ensure that future exports will not have this anomaly, fine, what's past is past, and I have all those HHs in PT2 anyway. Is that what I'm reading, please?
Again, thanx for the support.

That's my understanding, and that if you purged and reimported the old tournaments into PT3 the export for those tournaments should then work properly thereafter.

If you don't experience this behavior please let me know and I'll make sure that the bug is reopened and fixed properly - though I'm confident that if our developers say it's fixed, that it's fixed.

Dear me. I did try to purge a tourney played last night, starting after 1900Hrs Eastern, but got a runtime error, then a "PokerTracker..needs to close" message :o . On reopening and trying again to purge this tourney, the purge window was "not responding". :!: I've attached the log to the Support ticket [104689]‏.
More going on than meets the eye, I fear.

That's odd it looks like the query finished in the log.

Restart PT3 - do you see the tournament there still?

I just did, and yes, the unpurged tourney is still there, with all of its hands.

I spoke with the developer who checked in the fix for this issue and he's going to look into it further either today or tomorrow. I'll get back to you once I have more information.

The reason the tourney summary is 5 hours later than your hands is because all tourney summaries are saved in UTC. There was an import bug that was fixed in 3.09.3 BETA where upon re-import, these UTC summaries were being incorrectly treated as local time. This is what was fixed.

If you import the latest summary 8181.txt in a new db, you'll see in PT3 the time will be 5 hours earlier than the times in the summary. As kraada said, the incorrect tourneys will need to be purged and re-imported. When you import a summary after hands are imported (which is recommended), only start times earlier than 1st hand and end time later than last hand will be adjusted.

I'll investigate your runtime error.

Not sure this issue has been considered solved, but its not.

I have exported summaries to my notepad to use as dummy import summaries for MTTs that I've add to add later (like during the handgrabber issue with Bodog). When I enter in the new info in these dummy summaries for manual impot, the times are being recorded with that same 5 hour lag. I've been doing these summaries this way for well over a year and never had these issues.

So far I've done this with Bodog and Cake and both have done the same thing.

If I understand correctly, the bug fix introduced a problem for what you're doing. You've been editing your own PokerTracker Generic summaries with your local time. The reason why it has worked for you all along is because of the presence of an import bug that treated these times as local time instead of UTC.

If you have hands for these tourneys, you can delete the start and end time lines in your summary template and the system will use the time of the hands for tourney start and end. Otherwise you can enter the time in UTC which is what the system expects.
