Struggling to install

Postby ryananglin » Mon Mar 14, 2011 7:15 am

Hi all,

My system wouldn't download this program through PT3, so i went through the guides and tried to manually install it, this seemed to work fine until I got to the initialiser database cluster page.

I confirmed the following

Initialize database cluster ticked
Port Number: 5432
addresses not ticked
Locale - English
Encoding (server) SQL_ASCII
superusername postgres
password dbpass

I click next and the following comes up:

The secondary logon service is not running. this service is required for installer to initilise the database. Please start this service and try again.

In the guide, this problem doesn't come up so I'm just a bit confused.

Thanks in advance

Click Start (if you're on XP click Run), type services.msc and hit enter. In the list, find Secondary Logon. Right click on it and click Properties. Set it to Automatic (it's almost certainly on Manual right now for you), and then start the service. The installation should then complete properly for you.
