It seems that my import speeds increase as the number of hands increases.

Importing a little over 1 million hands from the same HH batch increased my speed to 724.9 h/s

For the life of me, I can't figure out why.

Startup costs are somewhat fixed (loading the hand history file, starting the importer, etc.) - so that's not entirely surprising though I"d expect it to peak eventually.

Hopefully it can go even higher. Hopefully I won't need HEM anymore after the notes system is revamped in May :) That thing is so slow.

Could anybody send me HH in the "good format" so I can test how big the difference is? Also, NLHE hands would be good too since I only have PLO hands.

I have tweaked and tweaked and there aren't any more substantial gains to be had with the config file. Only thing left is HH.

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=12136&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Would this improve performance with 2 SSD drives? Or is that info outdated? (splitting pt3 on 2 harddrives)

Any of your own played sessions will be in the correct order, as should files exported from PT3.

Having a dedicated drive just for your database data will still give a performance improvement, although I don't have any figures for doing that with SSDs.

So I used the optimized HH format and DAMN...................................

Image

That's 1050 h/sec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My database has been getting faster as the number of hands imported increased so I would expect 1200 h/sec with a 500k import.

My rig:

i7-2600k OC to 4.4GHz
12 GB of DDR3 RAM (had to remove a stick when installing a new CPU fan for my OC)
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD
PostgreSQL config is the same as my first post (seems to be the best)
PostgreSQL 9 (latest version)

I can't even play poker anymore bc of my wonderful government. This is just pure boredom until the WSOP.
