Are all PT3 alpha testers going to get "grandfathered" over to test this new product (and get a free upgrade for all their hard work identifying / reporting issues)?

And is there an ETA to get PT4 to alpha testers?

P.S.
...I notice that this thread is available publicly to all the community (even though I didn't post it there). If you guys want to reply via PM that is cool.

When I learned what todays announcement was (after pressing F5 the whole day), I was dissappointed to say the least.

In this thread you wrote

APerfect10 wrote:I can assure you that our development team has been busier and more productive than ever (although you may not see it at face value at this time). Stick with us for 3-5 months and you'll be a very proud PokerTracker customer.

and everyone was under the impression that the eagerly awaited improvements to the replayer and the note-taking system, a new graphic HUD editor, new graphing options, etc. (that your competitor already has or PT2 had) are just around the corner.

But at the end of a long wait, we get .... NOTHING but a website full of marketing crap, a list of features that are (for the most part) known and requested for a long time by PT3 users and the prospect that we have to wait another 3-6 months till we get what we asked for. But not without paying another 50 bucks...

I'm not a very proud customer right now.

Active alpha testers will be transferred over to PT4 alpha testers (so you will be). We are hoping to extend our private alpha testing to you in July.

Today is the big tease and I'm sorry that you are not fancied. More meat will be coming out as we release weekly videos along with posts in our new blog. We are releasing these weekly video updates to get feedback from you -- the videos will help us finish the development and refine the vision that we have to meet your needs.

Once you start seeing the features, I think you'll take back that last paragraph.

Best regards,

Derek

Are custom HUDs gonna be compatible with PT4, or am I gonna lose the countless hours I have spent on customizing my HUD ?

PT4 will be able to import PT3 HUD files - we wouldn't leave you high and dry like that.

I'm sure I've spent more time at it than you have - so there's no way I was going to let there be no conversion mechanism for people like us. When you see some of the new stuff we have planned though you may well want to build something new anyway, though ;)
