Just considering of getin PT3 through tracking on one of your supported sites. Will this allow me an free upgrade to PT4 too?

greets

PokerTracker 3 earned through our Get It For Free program does count as a purchase, therefore it will not qualify for a free upgrade to PT4. You will be able to get the upgrade at the same price that all other PT3 users can purchase it for, the cost has not been announced yet but I can assure you we are pricing the upgrade to assure affordability for our existing PT3 users.

When did you buy PT3? All PT3 purchases beginning on June 10, 2011 will receive a free upgrade to PT4. That said, if you purchased PT3 before June 10th, we can assure you that the upgrade price will be very reasonable.

I bought it after I read what you just stated. Stevens comment sounds different though.

An actual purchase will qualify you for the free upgrade. Getting PT3 free through one of our site offers is what will not qualify you, but will only qualify you for the upgrade pricing. I hope that makes it clearer.

Will the cost of PT4 be around the cost of PT3+the cost of upgrading to PT4? If not, and you're about to sell PT4 for the same price as PT3 and just charge extra to upgrade from PT3 - it will not be fair.
You should take care of your long used customers, not charge them extra. Why should I end up paying more for PT4 if I bought PT3 in the past? If anything, it should be the other way around.

There is a lot of confusion in the past few posts, I hope I can help clear this misunderstanding in the bullet points below

  • Everyone who purchased PokerTracker 3 after June 10th will get a free upgrade to PokerTracker 4.
  • Everyone who purchased PokerTracker 3 before June 10th will have the option to purchase the upgrade to PokerTracker 4 at a very moderate price.
  • If you earned a free copy of PokerTracker 3 at any time by participating in the "Get It For Free" program which is featured on PokerTracker's homepage, then you will be permitted to purchase a moderately priced upgrade to PokerTracker 4. Earning a free copy of PokerTracker 3 through the Get It For Free program is not the same as purchasing PokerTracker 3, hence we need to have this special separate distinction. This is the only situation where the June 10th cutoff date does not apply.

Additional notes -
  • It is safe to ignore any speculation posted about the price of PokerTracker 4 or the upgrade to PokerTracker 4, we haven't announced what the price will be yet. We are withholding the price because our goal is to create a pricing structure that works best for a wider range of customers than we have been able to accommodate in the past. I know this may sound confusing now but we are withholding this information for a good reason that will benefit our users in the end, once the price is released you can look back on this post and it will all make sense.
  • Since we have not disclosed the pricing yet, it is too soon to compare the cost of PT3 + the PT4 upgrade to the cost of a new stand alone copy of PT4. Don't worry, we know how our customers would react if we didn't have the best pricing structure in place. We are going to do the right thing, it is my opinion that nearly everyone will find our pricing to be fair once it is released.
