Post Lion update PStars crashes, PT 3.11.5 BETA running.

iMac 10.7.2 Lion
PokerStars 5.005
PT 3.11.5 BETA

4 GB memory
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

All was going well until yesterday when I updated Lion to 10.7.2. Now when I open PokerStars and PokerTracker, running at the same time, PokerStars crashes and will not reopen. Then one of two things occurs, my entire screen freezes (waited for 10 minutes) and I need to turn the iMac off with the rear on/off button in order to get a restart. Other times the screen freezes for a minute, PS crashes, trying to reopen PS is impossible as it is dead.

I have reinstalled PokerStars latest build, reinstalled PokerTracker latest build, corrected permissions, restarted the computer. Nothing seems to have made a difference.

If you start PokerStars without PT3 running does it crash?

Playing right now without PT and no issues at all. Feels really odd with no PT, look forward to a solution.

You're the first to report this kind of crash - does PT3 crash as well or just PokerStars? Have you reported this to PokerStars yet?

After some reflection (Homer Simpsonish indeed), I recall in a moment where I was cleaning out unused applications yesterday. I do recall removing something along the lines of "PokerTracker Install" thinking "PT is installed, certainly do not need this bit... off to the trash ye goes". Thinking now this might be the cause of the recent issues. I can assume this was an important part of the PT application as it was installed along in the process. If so.... what now?

Yes PT also crashes and cannot be restarted. Same MO as PS, dead, dead, dead, until a restart revives everything.

I have not reported it to PS (as it works fine all on its own), my next step if PT is all in the clear.

Do you have Memory Grabbing turned on for PokerStars? That should definitely be turned off if PT3 is causing PokerStars to crash.

This problem began to emerge only with the first beta version of Mac OS 10.7.2. I watched her since August. A check is made on an external drive, constantly updating the system. In the final version of the same thing happened. If you upgrade to 10.7.0 or 10.7.1, the problem disappears. After updating to 10.7.2 it appears again. Once HUD runs in PokerTracker, PokerStars takes off and starts again only after a reboot. The reason is some incompatibility with PokerStars. Need to access them. Sorry for my english).

On the Auto Import tab click PokerStars, then PokerStars Configuration.

Turn of Memory Grabber (it's the checkbox at the bottom right there) - do you still see the crash with it off?

I fired up PT and followed instructions as above. Played in a non cash game and all went well. I then turned off PT and returned the settings to as before and started PT again. CRASH! PS goes down and I cannot bring it back without a restart. So you are on the right trail with the Memory Grabber line of thought.

I need to add additional information. Not only does PS crash and the screen freezes, my entire system goes blank. I have my FORCE QUIT APPLICATIONS window open during this test to monitor open apps and all the applications vanish, there is nothing in the window, no FINDER as well. To get to the Force Quit Applications window on a Mac hold down keys COMMAND-OPTION-ESCAPE all at once (in case anyone needs to know).

If you need any data from my computer, I can send it over.

Cheers.
