Access Driver and SQL error

Postby djs1070 » Sun Apr 27, 2008 2:04 pm

Hi, I upgraded my PT V2 on 4/18. I don't know if I did something wrong I downloaded the full version, the patch and the help files. Was I just supposed to download the patch. My PT is still working fine.

I never really got my PAHUD to work right, my stats would not appear before or after the upgrade. I think Iwas getting close though, when this prblem started. It didn't start until a week after the upgrade.

When I open my PAHUD it says it can't find my PTV2 files.Access Driver Login Failed. I tried to delete my database but I still only have (MY 1st Poker Database) and it wont let me delete it b/c it's my only database. I also get a SQL error when I try to make a new database.

I checked my C drive and the file is there. On the PAHUD when the login box opens and I click on database and go to hhcopy.mdb my PAHUD will read the table I am playing at but I get a query error after the first few hands and it tries to read the players.

I run Vista. Everything is in run as admin. I am running PAHUD 1.18.

Like I said on 4/19 when I opened my PAHUD I did not get an error I just had trouble getting stats.

I have been over and over the Support Wizard and the FAQ's but don't know what to do.

Do I need a PostgreSQL? Should I download PAHUD 1.19?

Well, if you converted to PostgreSQL that would resolve the issue but you do not need to do that...

Simply create a new blank, temporary place holder database and open it. Close your current database and remove it from PT2. Then add that database back in, open it. Close the temporary database and delete.

That will resolve the issue...

Best regards,

I have been trying to create a new one, but it won't let me. This is what I get: Tried to take a screen shot not working

"Unable to open new database

The error was:999-SQLSTATE-IM002
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager]data source name not found and no default driver specified"

I don't know if I am doing something wrong or not.

I run Windows Vista, does my user control need to be off?

I don't mind going to PostgreSQL, but I think I would need to run Postgre 8.3, and think I read PAHUD doesn't work with that version.

I will try whatever you think is best.

Well now I did it I lost everything. I now have a data window error that seays: Data transaction information not available. Call Set Trans or Set Trans Object Function.

What now?

You say simply create stuff but none of this is simple to me. I followed the directions on the page and my data base comes up as other. I can open another database using access. I get the 9099 error again.

Please help me figure this out I am so lost.

I was wondering should PT3 is going to have it's own HUD right? Should I scrap this and move on? I am very frustrated right now.

In my above post I meant the 99-SQLSTATE=IM002 error.

I am not overly concerned with what I lost. It wsn't that much stuff, I can deal with it.

Would it be easier to unistall everything and start from scratch? This is why I asked about PT3

Just to let you know I play mainly SNG's

If you are getting this type of error while running on Vista then it sounds like you aren't running as administrator like you need to be. See this FAQ for how to start the program every time...

Pat I am running as admin. and always havwe been. Everything was opening fine until this past Friday, I don't know what started this.

On Friday I was importing hands, but my PAHUD wouldn't work. I tried to create and delete databases as instructed, but it would not let me create a new database or I just don't know how. I followed the instructions on the screen.

Somehow I finaly created a new database but it wasn't an acces database it said other. Then I couldn't even get my first database back.

Now this morning I opened PT and it was back to "MY 1st database" how I don't know. Right now when I open PT I get the login error, I click OK and get the login box, then I get an Unable to connect to database box that says 100- no data found to satisfy the request. If PT does stay open and I go to maintain database names it says the database is open but then I get a data window error.

I really have know idea what to do. Sorry I am not very god with computers but I believe I am following all the directions correctly. Like I said evrything was opening fine on 4/19, I didn't use PT or PAHUD again until 4/25. I made no changes to my computer. It just stopped working. After it stopped working I did reset my computer to 4/19 but that did not help.

What's next?

What is the login error you get now opening PT exactly?

Does Vista prompt you to cancel/allow PT to run?

Yes it does prompt me to cancel or allow.

This is what I get: ODBC Microsoft Access Driver Login Failed
Could not find file C:\Program Files\PokerTracker V2\ptrack.hhdb.mdb
In this box it says OK or cancel if I click OK the login box pops up.

If I change the database to ptrackback_up.mdb a box pops up that says
Could not find file C:\Program Files\Poker Tracker V2\ptrck.mdb
