How big gets database and possible to run under 32MB RAM?

Postby Helveticus » Sun Jan 08, 2012 3:52 pm

Hello

How big gets the postgresql database? Is it limited or grows it constantly with the number of imported hands?

I have an older NAS (Synology Diskstation DS106e) with postgres installed, but it has only 32MB RAM. Could this be a problem?

The problem is that my NAS has only 32MB RAM and there are only 1MB free. But it has also a 500 MB Swap, so postgres would use the SWAP i think. Is this a problem? Too slow?

I wouldn't expect things to work at all well (or at all) on a system with so little RAM. If it does work it is likely to be extremely slow.
