Windows 7.
Had Postgres 8.4 not used for a long time. Removed it through Control Panel and installed 9.1. Service is running.
PT3 gives me “unable to connect”
pgAdmin III gives me “password authentication failed”
Hostname: localhost
Port: 5432
Username: postgres
Tried dbpass and postgrespass.
Tried to change password through command prompt: net user postgres dbpass. Command was accepted but no joy.
Ideas?

If you follow
this tutorial you will be able to connect regardless of the password you supply - use the 8.4 instructions just substituting 9.1 for 8.4 where appropriate.
Please note that the last time we tested 9.1 we found crashes which caused problems for PokerTracker - as such we only officially support up to 9.0 at this time.
