Wow. I didn't have this problem with the HEM trial. I can't even get into the poker tracker. I've tried the 3 diff pws suggested in other posts with no luck. I'm not interested in becoming a freaking computer programmer in order to try this trial version either.

If you follow the steps of this tutorial you should be able to connect - all you will need to do is edit one text file and restart the PostgreSQL server, and this tutorial tells you which one.

Thank you for replying. When PokerTracker didn't work, I uninstalled it and I think I uninstalled postgreSQL. I did as you recommended and there is no postgreSQL in start/programs. I googled it and found it's download site. Will that version work? I'm going to try it and then follow your instructions.

If you have a 64 bit machine you will get much better performance out of the PostgreSQL 9.0 64 bit version. Otherwise you can use either 8.3 or 8.4 (we do not recommend 9.1 at this point in time) - if you are going to use either of those versions, we have a reinstallation guide you can find here.

8.3, 8.4 and 9.0 should all work just fine.

I am attempting to run PT3 on a macbook with Lion installed. I tried some months ago but gave up after continuous issues with postgresql. After reading that these issues had been resolved, i decided to try again and downloaded the latest version. I get the same database error as previous. I have switched off my firewall and have tried rebooting. I have never set passwords so it must be the default. Most support i see on your site either refer to Windows or were written 3 years ago. Does this software work with a mac and if so, do you have a simple solution to my problem.

If you previously attempted to install PostgreSQL on Lion then you will probably need to remove it before you can reinstall.
If you have PostgreSQL in "Applications" try dragging it to Trash, reboot and run the installer again. However, you may need to follow the directions in this thread. If you can't get it working please open a Support Ticket and one of our support techs will help you directly.
