PT3 hand histories to PT4

Postby dissie » Mon Apr 09, 2012 11:53 am

I am a MAC user who switched to PT3 because I was excited by the fact that PT4 was coming and I wanted to play on my MAC instead of a virtual machine.

I now get the feeling that it could take a very long time before PT4 is launched for MAC-users so I would like to use the normal (non-mac) PT4 version for now.

Is there any way that I can get my handhistories and stats from MAC PT3 to the beta PT4 version?

Best regards,
dissie

Yes - but the easiest way will depend a little on your setup. Are you running Windows via Parallels or something similar?

Yes, exactly. I am running parallels and Windows XP.

At the moment I play on Pokerstars.

Ok in terms of performance the best thing to do is to keep PostgreSQL on the Mac side and just install PT4 in Parallels.

This thread will explain how to set this up and the performance benefits associated with keeping PostgreSQL on the Mac side.

Other than that, if you copy the hands from your Processed folder into any location in Parallels that PT4 can read, you can use the Get Hands From Disk button (found on the Play Poker page or by clicking the grey arrow at the bottom right of PT4) and import those hands. For information on letting Parallels see data on your Mac, please see this tutorial.

Maybe I was a little optimistic saying I am ready.

I created a place for parallels to import MAC-stuff. But how do I get the processed files from MAC-side to windows? I can't just drag and drop.

The way to do it is to create a network share then connect to it in Parallels. There's a tutorial here that helps walk you through it - it's a bit fast in places though so if you get stuck just let me know and I'll be glad to clarify further anything you need.
