I open PT4, with no poker client running, no other programs running.

click "Get Hands While Playing" button, then open windows task manager, see PokerTracker4.exe eating about 30% cpu.
click "Stop Getting Hands" then it's cpu cost goes down to 0% - 1%.

I can repruduce this issue 100% of the time.Is this normal or abnormal? Note I have no poker client running.

In TableTracker try changing My Stakes to All Bet Types - do you see anything now?

Anything wrong?

No, that's normal.

This, however, is not normal. PT4 should use virtually no CPU to auto import, even if you are importing hands.
Please add this information to your support ticket if you didn't already, and we'll get back to you there where we can see the log files.
Thanks.

No, as I said, no matter how I select those two, there is no option for me to select below.

That's very strange - please restart PT4 and then do another search for All Bet Types / All Stakes, and open a separate Support Ticket to attach a screenshot and the PokerTracker4.log file from C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\PokerTracker 4\ (which you can access from the PT4 File menu).

I did another test.
I created a new database and set the new one active. then I start "Get Hands While Playing", it won't cost cpu any more.

I have imported many hands (400k or something like that) from disk. It's this related ?

I used to use HEM1 for a long time, when they release HM2, I don't like it, I think PT4 is much clean, so I prefer PT4 style.
And I have bought your PT3 , just for that you said I can get PT4 if I buy PT3 at this time.
Now it's seems PT4 have a lot of problems for me. The cpu usage problem is really annoying.
But I am still pacient, hopefully you can help me.
Thank you in advance.

Thanks - we'll get back to you via your ticket.

Having 400k hands in your database shouldn't cause that kind of problem, but please go to Database > Database Management and do Housekeeping > Vacuum & Analyze and then Rebuild Cache and see if that helps.

Please restart PT4 and reproduce that problem too, and attach the PokerTracker4.log file to a separate ticket so that we can see if anything unusual is going on.

I did some further research. I found what PT4 is doing.

When I start "Get Hands While Playing", pt4 start to make those "auto notes", I imported the handhistories before.

I execute the SQL regularly, the result is keep growing slowly.
select count(*) from notes_auto;

I wonder this auto note making job would take how much time.

Can I disable this auto note feature?
