Transfer to new computer

I am about to transfer my PT3 database to a new computer.

Old machine is WinXP SP3, PostgreSQL 8.3

New machine Win 7 SP1 PostgreSQL 9.0

Is the following procedure correct?

Step 1 backup PT3 to "zip" file on old machine.(external hard drive)

Step 2 Install PostgreSQL 9.0 on new machine.

Step 3 Install PT3 on new machine.

Step 4 Restore database from zip file produced in Step 1.
