You'll need to add a line in pg_hba.conf for the subnet 10.0.2.0/24 just like you did for the others - the 192.168.0.0 subnet is your real local network. 10.0.2.0 is your virtual subnet between your real machine and virtual machine.

What program are you using to manage your VM? Parallels, VMWare Fusion . . .?

In that case, in PT4 you want to put the server address as 10.0.2.2 then everything should (cross fingers) work.

That resulted in a similar error as posted above. Just so we're on the same page, this is what I'm attempting to do:

possibly need to add a 10.0.2.x address to en1 on the mac side then set that as the server IP. not entirely sure how virtualbox NAT works so unsure if this is necessary, but seems the mac host isn't on a 10.0.2.x network
