Instead you phrased it; "we will release PT4 update in one day, and PT3 in 2-3 weeks, here check our bonus offer for PT4!"

Can you show me where it was phrased like that? If you are correct then I will be sure to address this so we don't make that mistake in the future, I agree that would be an error. thnx!

The very next day after Full Tilt came back:

"Now that the PT4 update is out a PT3 update will follow in 2-3 weeks.

As a PT3 owner you currently get a 70% discount off the upgrade to PT4 (which now supports the new FTP updates)"

Do you not agree this can easily be misinterpreted?

That quote you posted was taken slightly out of context. Our support representative (WhiteRider) was trying his best to show alternative solutions for those of you who are Windows users this way you can get working right away instead of waiting for us to come out with an upgrade for PT3. Frankly it was very good advice because as time marches on, you will find that support for PT3 will slowly dwindle as poker rooms make radical changes to their hand histories. Those of you who have been playing for a long time may remember the same situation over a 2 year period after we switched from PT2 to PT3. At this stage, our focus is on PT4, there is no hiding that fact, we have been very clear about that for many months now. Since our development focus is primarily on PT4, that means we can no longer add new features or changes to PT3, we can only address bug fixes. Support for FTP is considered a change because FTP made major changes to their hand history; at this stage we are only issuing PT3 updates due to errors caused by PT3.. not the sites. We decided to include the FTP change anyway because it would help out our Mac OS X users who do not have a viable option yet (PT4 for OSX should be available for public beta testing in 2 months). Considering the cheep price for upgrading, it really is something that all PT3 users should consider now rather than later... the future is with PT4, it is wise to make the switch as soon as you can so you can save money, keep in mind that the 70% (or greater) discount opportunity ends in a few weeks.

How do these comments make any sense to you to say:

1) "It would help out our Mac OS X users" - really a 2-3 week delay to handle a extra (Total Pot: ...) piece of text added to the hand histories but adding it to PT4 within 24 hours is helping out OSX users how? BTW here's the regexp if anyone needs it / \(Total Pot.*/ - copy your FT history files to a new directory - find & replace (using text editor that supports regexp - e.g. Sublime Text 2) and import those hands manually. I may even share a script to perform this in realtime if I get chance this weekend.

2) OSX beta in 2 months (where have I heard that before) but the 70% discount ends in a few weeks... how do they tally?

New FTP code is just one of many things that need to be included in the upcoming release. We already had a lot of new code in place for the next PT3 release, this all needs to be finalized as well. PS: There is much more than just the Total Pot Size text, there are more changes to the parsing code than you suspect needed for proper FTP support.

PS: Alpha testing is proceeding faster than we anticipated, this is a good sign. We are working to get the update out as soon as we can.

When you purchase PT4 you are buying a registration code which can be used on both Windows and Mac OS X, you are allowed two personal installations (for example a laptop and a desktop) and these installations can be over the same or different operating systems. If you know you want to use PT4 for OS X, then it would be wise to purchase the upgrade in advance to save.. you will still have the freedom to use the registration in a Windows VM or Bootcamp before the OS X version comes out.

How on earth would we know that before the beta is made available? Do you expect us to trial it in a VM/Bootcamp (which will take a while to get all set up) but even then how can we be sure we'd get the same experience as the end product on Mac?

It just feels like you haven't thought through the OS X stuff at all, while I appreciate PT being available on Mac - and I can't even begin to understate that point. The fact that we have to wait 6 months to get the new version after the windows release is one thing, but not being offered the same discount as Windows PT3 users unless we act now without being able to try the product we're buying seems a bit of an oversight to me. I'm talking here about those users that don't read these forums, hell I explicitly asked to be added to the Mac Beta tester list but I've not heard anything that the upgrade discount won't apply when the OS X version becomes available until I posted in this thread.

I'm sorry to drag this thread down that alley but every response from PT that has been posted in this thread just seems to be missing the point or throwing more fire on the issue that us PT3 users (and especially so Mac PT3 users) are getting a raw deal here.

We will be happy to discuss your dissatisfaction in a thread dedicated to this topic. This is not the right place.

Good news.... we were able to get the PokerTracker 3 beta out this morning! The alpha testing went so well that we got the job done more than a week in advance of what we predicted!

If you are a Full Tilt fan, then download the new PokerTracker 3 BETA today!

Thanks, seems perfect!
If I can advise, next time don't scare us with 2-3 weeks even if you're just want to be on the safe side of things and if you decide to cease the development of PT3, please set a date and tell us straight! A deadline like that surely would force more users to upgrade to PT4 and PT3 users wouldn't bust your balls when the new updates are coming.

I strongly recommend not using any VM softwares and poker clients at the same time as it might end up getting your account suspended or even banned.

We fully disagree. We were being honest when we said 2-3 weeks, that is our standard time frame that is needed, sometimes we get lucky and produce faster than the norm... it is impossible to predict. We do not want to make promises that we cannot keep.

This is not true, there is no evidence whatsoever that this can occur unless you are running blacklisted software on the VM - which we would never advise doing, PokerTracker follows the terms of service of all of our partner poker rooms. We are experts on this topic, we know because we speak with the poker rooms directly.

PS: Please see your PM.

There seems to be a problem with the flop play in the PokerTracker hands. No matter how I filter I can not find a single imported hand where I check/folded flop heads up. I have played about 4k hands of heads up since Full Tilt came back, and I know I have called from the big blind and check/folded flop at least a few times! Is it a problem on my end or what's the issue here?
