Sorting of Auto Notes

Postby stefansinger » Sat Jun 09, 2012 12:37 pm

Very cool that the Opponent filter for Auto Notes is working now.

It would be great if the Auto Notes would be sorted in the hud. When multitabling it often takes too much time to find the row I'm looking for. Sorting would speed up the "look up process" - the sorting for Preflop, Flop etc. which is already implemented is a first step of course and already helping.
Sorting order as in the editing dialog would be best (name of rule), but sorting by auto note text is probably easier to implement.

BTW: I would still love to see the possibility to access the note editor in PT without having to start the replayer. Next to the Alias Icon (is this really used by people?) would be a great place to put an Open Note Editor icon. Thinking about the notes editor, why not replace the simple text box for the player name by the player selector as it is in the filter section (left of the Alias icon). So it would be possible to easily switch to another player's notes. I'm usually writing notes after playing.

(Okay, I shut up now:-)

Thanks for considering.

Both of your suggestions are already on the developer list for future consideration - we know these need to be addressed, I just don't know at this point exactly when we'll have solutions implemented for you.

I am also having an issue with too many lines of Note Tracker notes.

In addition to writing Note Tracker notes into the player notes, or as an alternative.
I was wondering if they could be incorporated into the HUD popups?

So you could have a mixture of stats and Note Tracker notes appearing on a HUD popups.

That is something that has been requested but it is not as easy to set up as it sounds - it's definitely something we'll look into eventually but I don't know how feasible it will end up being.

Bump :)

Did autonotes ever get sorting functionality? If so, how do I do it? Thanks

They currently sort alphanumerically - if you put numbers at the beginning of your text output lines you can force things to sort in that way however you like (I know this is not ideal, but it is better than nothing!).

I thought the numbers before the name of notes were for sorting them, so I changed them.
Now I have two lines for every note I changed this number on, from bad to worse...
Any way to merge them in one line?

There's no way to merge them but if you purge the notes via the Status page and rebuild them everything should be combined into one line (this is because the note data is stored based on Name in the database).
