PostgreSQL - "Error reading file"

Click Start type Event Viewer and click on it when it appears. Expand the Applications section and look for errors relating to PostgreSQL - do you see any there? If so, what do they say?

I clicked Event Viewer and I'm given the following options: Custom Views, Window Logs, Application and Service Logs, and Subscriptions. I expand Application and Service Logs but there's nothing there relating to PostgreSQL. My options are Hardware Events, Internet Explorer, Key Management Service, Microsoft [Folder], and Windows Power Shell. When I expand the Microsoft Folder it leads to a Windows folder where there's a ton of other folder. None of them are labeled PostgreSQL.

You want to look in Windows Logs -> Application.

Nope, I don't see any. Most of them are labeled Restart Manager, MsiInstaller, ESENT, VSS, etc, none PostgreSQL.

I just went back over what you edited in and realized you didn't do what I thought you did.

I meant create a folder on the root of the C drive (not in your users folder) and install there. Could you give that a try? Call it C:\PostgreSQL\ or some such and see if that works better.
