where can I find exact (NoteTracker) stats definitions ?

Postby ericbaes » Tue Jan 29, 2013 5:54 pm

I have created some Auto Notes definitions necessarily by trial and error (which is relatively time consuming), because I can find no unambiguous definitions of the stats building blocks. Take e.g. the 'Cold Call 2Bet PF' Player Stat (translating to the 'Cold Called Preflop Cold Called 2 Bet' Auto Note Player Filter), which can be traced down to the 'flg_p_ccall' Hand Column, stating 'If the player cold called Preflop'. Unfortunately, that is no precise definition (which also lacks one or more positive and negative examples for clarity). As a matter of fact, I submitted a related support ticket because of presumed wrong Auto Note generation. Anyway, my question: where can I find precise stats definitions ? BTW, I have a 20+ years complex software engineering background, so I would be able to perfectly understand any kind of internal low level business rules specifications/documentation towards database columns population (in case indeed no sophisticated end-user manual would currently be available). Tx !

To answer the specific question about cold call - a cold call of a 2bet is when you call without having money in previously - so if someone opens UTG+1 and you call on the button you are calling cold (as opposed to calling in the blinds where you have money in so you are not cold). A call for a 3bet or higher is considered cold if you didn't make the raise previous - so if you faced a 3bet and didn't 2bet and call you called cold, or if you faced a 4bet and didn't 3bet and called you called cold, etc.

We've tried very hard to use normal poker definitions whenever possible, and when we are using things specific to ourselves we try to note them in the filters window (e.g. the button is position 0). We don't have documentation for each and every filter option but if you have anything you'd like to know more about I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
