creating ew database problem

Newbee here. After registering, I was informed that I needed to create a new database. I followed the How-to instructions under FAQ and when I try to export the old db I receive a window that states "export complete. 0 hands were exported in total". What am I missing?

On the Database Management window, you select the old database and click Export, yes? Make sure you select the old DB, not the new one.
