What is "Modify System Configuration" doing?

You guys are really suck about explaining things... What the hell is this dialog want to do?

Do I need it? What will it modify? Why the Earth do I need to restart after this? I never seen such a stupid behavior since I'm using a Mac...

PokerTracker uses software called PostgreSQL to store its database in. Due to the nature of this software and the way it was programmed we need to alter certain memory settings in OS X for it to work properly (specifically the amount of shared memory available in the system). This will not affect any other software, it will just mean that PostgreSQL will have what it needs to run properly.

A reboot is required because that setting takes effect on startup and even when we mark it to be changed it won't take effect until the next reboot - so PostgreSQL and by extension PT4 would not work until that reboot happened (which is why we prompt you to reboot).

That makes sense, but please make your error messages MORE VERBOSE, because I never know what is happening and what to do about it. You probably could also avoid hundreds of support tickets or forum questions if you would make the UI messages more clear.

That particular one should only come up once; as soon as the system is modified you won't see it again.

If there's any other ones in particular you'd like to see expanded just let me know and I'll see what I can make happen.

As an avid Mac user, its my opinion that a more verbose message would be "un-Maclike". It would be more "Maclike" to remove the skip button and force the end user to make this change but we feel that its the right thing to do, we like to empower our users. If you would like to recommend a different text message, then we would be happy to consider it as an option if we feel that a change would benefit our users - feel free to make a suggestion!
