HUD not coming up after updating postgres

Postby thename1000 » Thu Jul 25, 2013 3:42 pm

Making a forum post instead of a ticket because hopefully I'll get support faster, as atm I can't play any games :/

I had to update to postgres 9.0.13.

Once I did that and started a game I realized my hud wasn't coming up. It also doesn't come up when I replay a hand from within PT4.

Auto import is on and it is updating the graph etc automatically after games complete. I tried closing and restarting PT4. Under HUD options I see my hud activated for all games.

Any advice to try? I'll submit a ticket if I have to, but I thought maybe there would be something I can try to do that I haven't yet.

Thanks!

If the hands are importing, the PostgreSQL upgrade is not affecting things - there's no way hands could import if PostgreSQL was not working.

Do you have your poker client in English?

Yes, it is in English.

I just realized this:

My old database was running postgress 8.x. After installing 9.0, I made a new database but then set the old one as active/default, because I didn't want to have to reimport auto notes and hands back into the new database.

While the old one is still importing, is this why the hud isn't working? Because it was previously running postgress 8.x? Do I have to use the new database?

8.x databases will not work with PostgreSQL 9.0. If you want to keep using your existing database you will need to make a backup of it (using File > Backup) using the same version of PostgreSQL it was created with (8.x), and then restore it (File > Restore) using PostgreSQL 9.0.

But even if I restore, I still have to re import all my hands, correct?

Also, I submitted a ticket about half my hands not importing correctly into the new database. I'm going to need some major help with this :(

Thanks!

Database backups include all of the hands in that database - they would not be very good backups otherwise!

hmm last time I did a restore the hands weren't restored. (the sizes of the databases weren't even close after restore)

I'll try again and update here after.
