New computer what do I do?

Postby swagerhouse » Thu Aug 01, 2013 10:00 pm

My other computer got a terrible virus a week ago and completely died. I had bought PT4 less than a year ago and now that I have a brand new computer I was wondering if theres any way I can get PT4 on my new computer without paying for it again.
Ps There is no way of getting on the old computer it is completely dead.

Sorry to hear about that - it's horrible when that happens!

You can install PT4 again from the PT4 Download Page and you can access your license from My Account > Registration Codes at the top of the page. You don't need to pay again - your old computer doesn't count against you.

If you have a backup of the settings and databases from your old computer you can restore them with File > Restore, or if you have the old hand history files you can import them with Get Hands From Disk.
If you don't have either of these, you can make backups using File > Backup. We recommend making regular backups and storing them off your main computer, as you would for any important data.

\the new download seems to be looking for an old file (im thinking based on my userid) that I guess was attached in my old computer....any thoughts. \the download fails at the run security step\

Which download are you referring to?
There is nothing about the install or basic running which requires any files from your other computer - it is perfectly possible to run PT4 on two different computers at the same time, using the same license.
