Very Long Time "Loading" Some Tabs

I have imported all my hands played from the past 12 months. I then set a filter to show me all the hands I have played so far this year, which is probably about 100k. Now due to the issue with the HUD and multiple DB's, I have all imported my observed and played hands in a big DB of ~3 million hands. After the manually importing all these hands, clustering was performed.

I set the filter and it returns enabling me to view the various tabs under "Texas Holdem". Under "General" tab the different tables state that they are loading, I leave this for 5 mins, come back and they still say loading. Then I click through the various tabs, and I find all the rest are the say, except for Graphs which shows the results of all my hands. After leaving PT3 for another 30mins, when I return the tables in the rest of the tabs still state that they are "loading".

I have a dual core machine, which never struggles getting my results from million or more hands when filtered in PT2 (and postgres 8.2). Is this a bug, or a result of having to combine my observed and played hands into a very big DB?

The more tabs you visit while it's loading, the longer each individual report will take to load. So for large databases and datasets, it's best to wait for your tab to load completely before moving to another tab.

There is also a problem we're having on some computers where queries are incredibly slow. For example, on Computer A, a query will execute in 5 seconds, but on Computer B, which is slightly slower, but PostgreSQL is configured identically, the same query on the same dataset will take over 3 minutes. We're still investigating this issue.

That sounds very much along the lines of what I am seeing. That some postgres queries are taking forever to execute. Would it be worth me upgrading to the latest postgres from 8.2?

PostgreSQL 8.3 is faster than 8.2, but it seems those people experiencing the slow queries with 8.2 also experience them with 8.3.

I assume that this hasn't been fixed for beta11.

I have just tried to add an alias, and it took over 30 mins to complete the addition. I am finding as I use PT3, some things come back within a reasonable amount of time, but then setting certain filters or doing certain actions PT3 grinds to halt for ages, anything up to 30mins. I have split my big db into 3 smaller ones of around 1 million hands each in an attempt to speed things up but it doesn't seem to have helped much, even after clustering and vacuuming.

I one thing I don't have any problems with is the general speed of import.

However, the way it stands at the moment reviewing my play etc is virtually impossible due to this lag in loading and processing certain requests. If you require a tester for this particular problem I would be more than happy to help.

I just tried importing about 500K hands on Beta 11 that I've played recently. They imported fairly quickly and all the tabs loaded in less than a few minutes.

Yeah, like I said, it only happens on some computers. The queries become infuriatingly slow. Trust me, I want to get this fixed.

i recently installed the 3.00 build 1 and manually imported about 700k hands. afterwards it needed more than 5 minutes to show me the statistics in the general tab as well as in all the other tabs. i just installed the build 2 and the general tab is a lot quicker now but i still got the problem with all the other tabs and features.these issues are only there when i select my overall stats. i had the same performance issues with pt2. is there anything i can do about it? i additonally have to say that i'm using the trial version.
