No hands importing, no HUD showing up, need help bad!

Postby infinitewaters » Wed Oct 23, 2013 2:16 am

Hey guys,

So I've had a bunch of issues with PT4 since returning to online 2 months ago. I used PT4 before I went to Vegas for WSOP and it was working fine on all sites. However, when I returned from my 3 month hiatus and rebooted my DELL desktop computer and tried to start running it again after installing all the new updates and stuff, it was didn't work. My HUD would show up on a few of my 10-15 tables I was playing, but not all. I was also noticing I had heaps of duplicates. I read up on this and tried to follow the steps listed under "Moving Processed Files: Unable To Get Hands While Playing" under "If you have a lot of duplicates ". However when doing that, after I would click everything it would take forrrrrever to move the files and import the existing hand histories, it would literally be running for like 1-2 days until I would just get fed up and end the process cause I wanted to grind a session. So that was like a month ago and now I'm over grinding with HM2 cause it's not as good and it won't work on Titan poker. So tonight I tried to see if anything had changed with PT4. I loaded it up, installed the new 10.4 and played a couple small turbo tournaments. The HUD didn't even pop up and the PT4 logo didn't show. No hands were being reported and no active tables were showing. When I viewed import status it was showing that 888 and FTP had a couple tournaments (I wasn't playing tournaments on them, just Stars) and no Stars tournaments were showing up: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/801/8ws4.png/ ..Also, one other thing I have noticed is when I click Stop Getting Hands, it takes a really long time for it to stop and I can't exit out of PT4 cause it gives me the "Please wait for Get Hands While Playing to stop before closing PokerTracker" message. Eventually I just end up ending the process in the task manager.

I'm really not sure where to go from here. I tried vaccuming and tuning PostgreSQL for the F of it. Nothing happened. I've tired to clean up the duplicates and it takes days so I give up. There's gotta be something I'm not doing that could help solve the issue. Please help!

To clear the backlog of existing hand history files close all of your sites and stop importing, then go to Tools > Setup Assistant and run through the site configuration option. This will import any existing hand history files and move them to the Processed folder.

If you have problems when you start Get Hands While Playing after that please open a Support Ticket and report your problem so that we can check your logs and see what is going on.

Ok. Went through the site configuration steps last night and ran the import at the end. I made sure to change my computers settings so it wouldn't fall asleep or anything this time cause that may have been the issue I ran into last time. I noticed when I first started running it, 216 hands immediately got imported so it appeared that it was working. I woke up though and my computer was shut off - the power here in Costa Rica goes out sometimes so I guess that's what happened. So I started up windows and am doing the configuration and importing over again. This time though it doesn't appear to be making progress, it's been running for 45 minutes and 0 hands/1 tournament summary is imported and the elapsed time is frozen at 0:05 second ... http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/707/uyti.png/

Should I just let it keep running? This is similar to the issue I ran into several months back and I feel like it's just frozen and not doing anything.

How many tournaments did you import the last time? It might well be running tournament detection and that can take a while.

I'm not sure. When I woke up my computer was shutdown so I had no way of knowing. Is there a way to find out? Should I leave it running or cancel and see if it will Get hands while playing?

In Task Manager check to see if there's a postgres process using CPU (you will need to show processes from all users) - if there isn't, you can kill PokerTracker via Task Manager and try again.

Ok. There was no postgres process so I killed it. What exactly am I trying again - the configuration process/importing existing HHs or trying to get hands while playing?

Also- should I be running PT4 by Administrator or does that not matter?

You should definitely be running PT4 as Administrator - it should do that automatically but if you turned that off, turn it back on and that alone may help considerably.

Oh ok, pretty sure it was doing that automatically cause it would prompt me to click yes/no every time I ran it, so I don't think that's the issue. Anyway, I just loaded up some tables and started PT. Clicked Get Hands while Playing and nothing has happened yet - 0 hands, errors, and duplicates and no sign of HUD.
