PT4 Problems

Postby lb88 » Tue Jan 07, 2014 6:59 pm

My tracker was working fine and all of a sudden i get the message about duplicates hands need importing. So i done that, ended up importing 40k hands. And its still doing the same thing when i go to get hands while playing. Starts getting duplicates again. Now when i go into my folders i have x3 of every file. Help me please :(

The Setup Assistant should move the hand history files after it has imported them, but this suggests that it wasn't able to.
Please move all of the hand history files to the Processed folder manually using Finder - you can find the Processed folder by using the PT4 menu File > Open User Data Folder, and if you're not sure where your hand history folders are you can look that up in Configure > Sites & Import Options. Stop importing and close all your sites while you move the files.

Once you've moved the files make sure that the Move Processed Files To option is enabled as described in the guide.

Play a few hands at a single table then close the table and the site's lobby before you stop the import, and check that the new hand history file was moved?

Ok my HHs are in a folder called initial import. Shall i just drag that folder into the processed folder or do they have to be out of the inital import folder?

Also is this set up right? Should i change the top photo to just processed not processed>initialimport?

Don't set your poker site to save to InitialImport -- set it to somewhere else. You can import manually from that folder, but PT4 uses that folder to move all files that were converted from a PT3 database and so that folder can get quite large. Large numbers of files in a folder can cause trouble with Get Hands While Playing. So just Get Hands From Disk on that folder, let it finish, then set PokerStars to save somewhere else (but also not on your Desktop, that causes problems too) that is a new clean directory and things should work better.

Ok is this correct? Ive put all files into a different folder (Hand Histories) and did Get files from Disk (got like 12k duplicates)

Is this set up correctly now in the pics?

As long as that's where PokerStars is set to save Hand Histories, yes. You probably also want tournament summaries set to save; they can go in the same folder or elsewhere that's up to you.
