Cannot connect to Postgre SQL

Postby Msrmek » Tue Feb 04, 2014 1:09 pm

Unable to login to database (postgres). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "???"
and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432

That's what I get. I tried booting computer and internet and still doesn't work.

Click Start type services.msc and click on it when it appears. Do you see PostgreSQL in the list? If so, can you start it?

It shows "hidden" like that and cannot be proceeded, käynnistä means start.

Edit: Got it to start, will see what happens soon, it's loading but very slowly.

This is what popped up:

http://gyazo.com/f0fe17594e15d435e8a115bc2894011c

It means PostgreSQL cannot be started. Error 1053: Application didn't answer in time for start-up or control request.

Click Start, type Event Viewer and click on it when it appears. Expand Applications and look for errors in the center pane relating to PostgreSQL. What do those errors say?

I found something like this from yesterday when I shut down my PC and postgreSQL havent work since:

http://gyazo.com/d34b2e518312e93a72964015b8cda834

Edit: It was funny when I was opening PostgreSQL manually, it opened well until halfway through and then went ultra slow and eventually caused the delay error.

Locate and delete the postmaster.pid file and then the server should start normally.
