IMac/Windows parallels postgreSQL problem

so i have postgreSQL installed on the imac and use PT4 in windows parallels.After an initial 2 day set up with one of the poker tracker support guys(mike you're a hero),it ran totally fine for about 2 weeks.today i went to use it and it said cannot connect to server,anyways got past that using the ip address of my imac but when it gets to choose database,i cannot choose it.its say's error connecting to default database.the only thing that might have effected its normal running is that i had to restart internet modem today because it wasnt going online,beside's that i didnt do anything,how do i upload a screenshot here?

In Terminal if you type:

ps auxw | grep -i postgres

what is the output?

You can link to any image with the img tag -- click the Img button at the top of the editor and put the URL of your screenshot in between the tags that appear.
