Were you expecting the importing of hands to go faster in this version? The advantage that PT3 has over PT2+PAHUD is more features and a compact all-in-one program, plus a faster database than before so stats retrieval is much much smoother and quicker. Importation of hands, though, is still generally done the same way and is dependent upon your processor speeds, your system resources, and the like.

I'm having a similar problem. I used the beta and I imported all my hands from the original hand history files. Then I exported all those handhistory files and now I'm reimporting those files in the PT3 build 2 trial version.

After the export there were like 400 files so I divided them all in 20 folders of 20 files each. I did this because I thought it wouldn't be a good idea to import 1 big folder of hand histories (1.5m hands).
Anyways, the first 4 folders were imported without problems (240k hands). But since then it is getting slower and slower, max 7h/s and folder 9 imported at the speed of 0.8h/s.

It takes about 20 hours or something to import 60k hands so I know there's something wrong, but I don't know what. I am using PostgreSQL 8.2 and I never had any complaints.

I analysed, clustered & vacuumed a few times but that didn't help.

/edit

Importing from the original files in the PT3 beta was going smooth, between 50 and 100 h/s.

Josh is aware of the issue related to slow import of the large HH files exported from PT3, and is working on a solution.

I never really timed the imports on PT2 because I always had it autoimporting, but when I imported in PT3 I did notice a decrease in speed over 100K hands as the import went on. It started importing at over 100h/s and went down to a little below 90 in the end taking 13 minutes total. Seems fine to me. I don't mind waiting a few hours if I need to import a million hands.

It seems like the speed issues have something to do with the "Adjust Qualitfying Tables Limits" Option. With this turned off, I get around 120 h/s, but with it turned on, it slows down to 18 h/s.

Yes, this was causing major slowdowns. Should be fixed in the next release.

I find the import of hands to be much quicker in PT3 but the stats are far slower.

I imported 3.1 million FTP hands in 8 hours which is about 107 h/s

The HUD is also not as good.

The idea of having a hud for stats is to know which are the best tables.

It doesnt work without playing a hand where as PAHUD will work when you observe the table.

IMHO PT2 and PAHUD is still much better than PT3, hopefully that will change in the future.
