Windows Conflict

Postby blueskyguy » Thu Mar 27, 2014 11:03 am

I just purchased a new computer with a 240 gb SSD and a conventional HD. I was planning to run the OS, PT4 and all poker clients on the SSD. After installing PT4 and PostgreSQL, Windows crashed and wouldn't restart because of a conflict with a .dll file. A service tech didn't have a good answer and he dumped my programs and reloaded Windows. How do I avoid this repeating when I reinstall PT4? It seems to be something to do with PostgreSQL.

Do you know what dll the problem was with? It's definitely not a general problem with all SSDs and PostgreSQL -- I'm personally using PostgreSQL and Windows all on an SSD and I know quite a few other people who do as well.

Thanks for responding. It is apparently a divx file.

That shouldn't have anything to do with PT4 or PostgreSQL.

Thanks. Didn't make sense to me either but the tech thought there was a link. I will reload and see what happens.
