I suspect that this is caused by one of your custom columns, but there isn't enough information here to be sure.

Please enable logging (Configure > Options) and restart PT4. Try to rebuild the cache then attach the PokerTracker4.log file from C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\PokerTracker 4\ (which you can access from the PT4 File menu) to a Support Ticket with a link to this thread, and post your ticket number here.
Please also make a Backup of your Optional Files (no databases) and attach that to your ticket as well.

Once you've done that if you recognize the expressions in the "unable to rebuild cache" error message that you posted edit the column and disable the Cache flag from that column and any like it. It looks as if that column has a non-standard expression which may be causing the problem.

The cache update for a database of that size will likely take a few hours. Is it possible that your computer rebooted itself overnight? Was PT4 still running in the morning? A forced reboot would have interrupted the update process, and it needs to run uninterrupted. Make sure that your computer doesn't reboot, and if it's a laptop that it doesn't go to sleep, or otherwise interrupt the process.


Pokertracker was still open when I got up this morning. I'm a big fan of PT4 but please don't infer this is my mistake.

I'm now re-indexing ; elapsed time 1hour35. Estimated type unknown :?

I didn't mean to imply that you had done anything wrong, but if the update was interrupted that would be a problem.
Rebuilding the cache on a database that large will take some hours, depending on your computer and how many custom stats you have - please let it run to completion. If you get any errors, or still have problems after the update completes please open a Support Ticket and report your problem with as much detail of the problems you're seeing, and post your ticket number here.

For anybody getting an out of memory error on the VACUUM, please follow my advice earlier in the thread to Revert Tuning and try again and it should work. You can re-enable tuning after the VACUUM is complete.

I have a computer rather weak.
I have to play 18 hours a day at the moment. Baze have 9030mb.
I can not devote much time is not known to rebuild the database (and it always hangs August)
I'll ask about the solution of the problem, so it took about 5-10 minutes.
Uploading previous versions-also have the same problem - does not work, hangs.
Before Uptade everything worked great.

We need your logs to be able to figure out what is going on in your particular case. A database of that size even on a good computer will take some time. You won't be able to get a cache rebuild down to a handful of minutes with a weak machine and a database that large.

Those four lines are expected; the first two are from NoteTracker, the latter two could be for anything using session data (session stats or a report with a session stat in it).

Hello I have a problem with PT4 after the update 4.11. problem in the following HUD does not work, does not collect statistics. When launched update all procedures correctly saddled all OK. How to solve the problem

Please restart PT4 using the logging enabled link on your Start Menu, reproduce this problem and then report it via our support system with the log file - that will help us figure out what is going on here and get it fixed for you. You can find that file by clicking File --> Show User Data Folder in the main PT4 window - the file we need is the text file called PokerTracker4 that is in that folder. Please post your ticket number here as well and we'll try to expedite a response for you.

I updated PT4 to v4.11 and let the database update run overnight. Everything worked fine and this morning v4.11 was open and running. But when I started importing hands from Pokerstars I wasn't able to import and if I click "Stop getting hands" it's freezing on forever and I have to shut it down manually...
I use a lot of custom stats so I was thrilled about the update and now I'm stuck, as every time a new update requires a database update. You do a great job and I'm a big supporter of PT, but this shouldn't be happening guys!

Even now that it's not working Postgres instances are consuming CPU resources and slowing down my computer, can I shut them down manually?

Can I switch to the backup database I did before the update and revert to the older PT4 version in the meantime?

I hope I can have a fix ASAP...
