after update to 4.11 PT4 doesn't work

Hi, im restoring my DB since yesterday and doesnt finish yet... its normal?

In status appears "\Processed/*.*.......". The dots still appearing so isnt freeze, but is very strange because y have only a
.rar file for the restore with 238MB... By the moment im restoring for 27h and doesnt finish, so I dont know if abort is the best solution right now.

I updated to v4.11.1 and I have Postgresql 9.3, and of course, I have the same problem (the HUD doesnt appear and when im stop, it freezes).

What I should do? Thanks.

A backup of that size will take some time to restore but I wouldn't expect it to take that long - it does depend on your computer as well though, so it's possible.

If neither PokerTracker4.exe or any PostgreSQL processes are using any CPU in Task Manager I would stop the process and try the restore again. Make sure you have plenty of available disk space - that should be checked by the restore process, but if you barely have enough PostgreSQL will work considerably slower.

I have a lot of space in my disk. I have DDR3 ram to (4GB).
Doesnt finish yet :_(
Do you think I should stop it and try other thing? I need to play some tournaments today and tomorrow...

after the initial update there were high cpu usages and no hands imported for 45 minutes< then a single hand with non after it for 30 minutes

i found this thread and at the end of reading it installed 4.11.02, it didnt appear to fix the problem so i checked my version of postgres

i was running 8.4, i installed 9.3.04 from here

ive just finished restoring my db from backup into the updated postgres and imported the hands from an earlier session at what appeared to be an acceptable pace

ill post back with more info (works/doesnt/kind of) once i get to try 4.11.02 on some gameplay


ps, the restore of a 15gb db on an i7 8gb ram 64bit version of win 8 took 2-4 hours (watched a movie during so cant pin it down closer)

Do I need to rebuild the database cache after installing v4.11.2? I did already with v4.11.0 and v4.11.1. Still have the slow importing issue.

You do not need to rebuild cache if U done it already.
From what I see slow import issue can be solved by upgrading your PostgreSQl version(if you have 8.x version - there is no need in upgrading from 9.0) or reindexing your database (housekeeping--->reindex pls be aware that on my ~20GB database (SSD, i7) it took almost 4h to finish. After that I'm able to import 3-4h/s during play and 10 times that during manual import.

everything seems very snappy

import is v fast during play and of old hands, running searches that used to take a tediously long time is now a matter of seconds

obv i havent fully test driven the new version+uodated postgres but so far im quite pleased

a graphs tab search filter that yeilded 600k hands wouldve taken me 4 minutes+ last week, but took me just 15 seconds now

Yeah exactly! Still it takes some time to process all-in adjusted tournament stats but even those are ready in about 2 minutes if I turn off all filters which could go for hours in the preview build. And I can see my results from all 3 year in a flash not having to wait 30 seconds!

There was some problems with this update but it was worth the effort of getting over them.

Task Manager shows that PT4 is still working, but restoring a backup of that size shouldn't take that long so I think I would stop the process and try it again (or wait until after your session if you want to play first).

Ok. I think I would play by mobile phone, so I will still trying to repair this..........

Should I update firts to 4.11.2? Or I should try to restore again first?

And other thing... when I open my dabatase management I have 2 databases... the last one was created when I updated to 4.11.1 and one error appeared.
