We have plans on adding this service eventually...I have never really tried it. I guess we could give it a shot. Never hurts to test during a beta, lol

I took some extra photos -- hope they help. These are photos sequentially of what I see in the PostgreSQL folders as PT3 is intstalling it.

First we have the tmp and data folders in screen shot 1... as PT3 is installing postgre, it creates extra folders seen in shot 3. Then I get the OP error and it "rollsback" and deletes those additional folders it had created in 8.2 leaving only the tmp and data folders. In shot 2, I've shown what is contained in the bin folder (for the fleeting moments it exists before being expunged during the rollback).

Sorry for the extra desktop space, but I wanted to get everything as a freeze frame together for each given time.

(can't get to 600 pixel limit...can I e-mail them to the PT3 support address?)
Go into (Admin tool folder)

And open "Services". Do you see PostgreSQL Database Server listed? If so, double click it. Is it started? If not, try to manually start it and see what happens.

Best regards,

Derek[/quotek2u]

No I do not see it listed under either the component services or the local services.

Send them to me via the PokerTracker Support[/url8r7] system.

Well since im a bit stubborn i decided to try a few more things

first i discovered that i had disabled the service "Secondary logon" which i think it needs.

secondly i went to postgresSQL website and downloaded the newest version and installed that.

after that i ran the PT3 installer again, it gave me an error when trying to install postgresSQL, i simply clicked ok and after that PT3 sucsessfully created the DB and PT3 is now working!

So i dont know if it was the service enabling that did the trick or the fact that i downloaded the PostgresSQL standalone pack.

Anyways hope it helps

Yes, the "Secondary Logon" service is required and was more than likely the issue...

I don't think I've disabled anything though, so how would I check for this and do you have any further ideas?
