PostgreSQL problems on Mac Yosemite Beta

Postby pasisiauses » Fri Jul 25, 2014 5:17 pm

I installed new Mac OS Yosemite and I can't start Poker Tracker 4, I always get this message:
"Unable to login to database (postgres). Reason: could not connect to server: No such file or directory Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket /tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432?"

Can you guys help me, or I must downgrade to OS Maverick, because Poker Tracker is still not ready for Yosemite?

I know that we're testing Yosemite and I haven't heard any problems from that test yet. Did you do a clean install? That error message is just saying PostgreSQL is not running. Have you tried reinstalling it?

Sorry - typed my reply before I saw your questions. Did I do a clean install of what? PT4/postgresql had operating fine on this machine for months until I upgraded to OS X 10.10 this morning.

I was squeamish about touching postgreSQL out of fear I'd screw something up - but can try this now if your advice is to do a complete uninstall/reinstall of postgresql.

Just try re-running the installer. It won't harm anything.

If that doesn't help, open Applications -> Utilities -> Console and search for lines relating to postgres and paste the contents here.

I installed OS 10.10 on top of Mavericks and I did nothing with Pokertracker 4 at all, because Poker Tracker 4 worked perfectly on Mavericks.

those messages comes over and over again on >Applications>Console
27/07/14 00:24:03,606 com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.edb.launchd.postgresql-8.4[17274]) Service exited with abnormal code: 1

I guess we are all waiting for instructions on how to resolve this issue.

Out of curiosity, are either of you unable to log in to partypoker since upgrading to Yosemite?

PostgreSQL doesn't seem to be starting up properly for some reason. Could one (or both) of you create a support ticket and request remote assistance? Link to this thread and we'll make sure you get pushed through the system quickly.
