Import database manually

Postby sweet_kitty92 » Wed Jul 30, 2014 8:46 am

Hi,

yesterday my computer crashed and Windows was no longer bootable or restorable. I had to wipe my harddrive and reinstall Windows, but could save my data by booting a linux dvd.

Now I am having all data and folders from PT4 and PostgreSQL as it was on my ssd, but I don't have ZIP-Backup. Can I manually import the database into PT4?

Just installed PT4 and PostgreSQL and tried simply copying the data in their folders, but this does'nt work.

Best regards

Edit: Sorry, please move to PT4 forum.

You want to install the same version of PostgreSQL to the data folder you have saved. So if you have what was C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\9.0\ on your backup, uninstall what you've installed, move that folder to that location and reinstall 9.0 to that location and it should (assuming there was no damage to it) start right up with your data.
