Call4b and 5b as BSS average regs

Postby Qetz » Fri Sep 19, 2014 6:30 am

I want see the average 5bet or call4bet as BSS of my cash limit regs; vs EP-CO, and vs BU+ steal. I used "#PFR/VPIP#>=78 AND #VPIP#<=30" to filter regs, and I added "Effective stack size big blinds between 80 and 120", and "YES/ NOT Position of first Raiser position of selected between 1 and 3". All on a all players report, but I think the effective stack its not working. Any idea?

Filters like "#PFR/VPIP#>=78 AND #VPIP#<=30" use the numbers that are in the actual report, not the players' overall statistics. This means that once you add a filter for position of the first raiser you're going to skew things significantly and that will likely affect the players who match considerably.

Thanks Kraada!
You mean that simple filters apply first? Anyway, "Position of first Raiser position of selected between 1 and 3" should filter spots where someone (not necessary the player) does OR EP-CO right? (Im not sure what spots filter the effective stack), and then, in the report filtered I will filter again to show me only regs thought "VPIP/PFR..." Matters the order applied?

Have you some other method to filter this spot?

When you're using filters on stats via filter expressions it filters out rows that don't match. The simple filters (and filter expressions based on SQL columns) restrict the actual query. Yes it will include spots where that player is the first raiser and is in position facing the first raise but it's going to affect VPIP and PFR and the ratio between them. I'd have to do detailed analysis to figure out exactly how it'd be affected specifically but it would be wrong to expect stats to look the same.

You mean that once someone, or the player himself, does OR in EP-CO, or BU+, the VPIP and PFR won't be the same and my filter to show only regs in the report will could be wrong, right? There is no easy way to filter this spot? :/

Maybe a simpler example will help make more sense. Imagine you want to look at spots these players raised first in. If you added a filter for raise first in, in those cases VPIP will be 100% (because we're looking at only hands players raised) so a filter for #VPIP# <= 30 will return no players.

You can use more complicated filter expressions here (see [url=https://www.pokertracker.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=54195]this thread for one such example), but the intersection of the filters you're using won't give you the results you want.

I understood. In that post I can see you making a (manual expression?) filter for another user. Very complicated, I cant understand how it works or modify it.
So where o how can I learn to use these complicated filters to get my spots?

Thanks for you patience

Searching through the forums is probably going to be your best bet. It has come up in several threads so you should have quite a few examples. In your searches you'll probably want to use the term "select" as well as something like "id_player" and the word "filter".
