PT3 Crashed

Postby pr1mo » Thu May 22, 2008 9:46 pm

My PT3 crashed and then it wouldn't restart so I went into my windows task manager and there was about 75 postgres.exe processes running so i end tasked them all and then restarted my computer and when i restarted PT3 it wont load up any of my databases. it says:

Unable to login to database (PT3_2008_05_21_200743). Reason: server closed the connection unexpectedly. This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request.

You should not end the postgres processes - there are supposed to be lots of them (though 75 sounds like too many - were you being literal?) - all you needed to kill was the PT3 process.

I'm not a postgres expert, so I can't tell you what to do about the error, but did you try Start -> Programs -> Postgres -> Start Service?
