Hand Processing on Note Tracker

Postby Bill_Balas » Sun Apr 26, 2015 4:27 pm

Hello,

My Hand Processing (Status page) currently flows at a rate of less than 1%/day. With 30% of hands processed, I'm looking at 2 more months time to processing completion.

a) What options do I have to shorten the process time?

b) On a full reinstalation cenario, can I avoid a new full processing of Auto-Notes? If yes, how?

Thanks

You can let it run overnight if you'd like - it only runs naturally while you're Getting Hands While Playing, so depending on how long your sessions are an overnight run might make considerable progress.

If you backup your database using our backup system and restore it on the new machine the NoteTracker notes will be included.

Ok.

The total number of hands to be processed (782 K - attached img) are the total number of hands existing in my database. Correct? Now, considering I just use my last 3 months of hands for Auto-notes (& Stats), why should my new Auto-notes require a processing of all hands in the database? Can't I erase part of my database, based on date of collection of hands?

Thanks

Notes are generated when a hand is processed (all notes for the hand), rather than all hands being processed for each note. Therefore to generate the notes for a hand you need to purge all the notes and re-process the hands. You can do that on a date basis (in a simple way) using the controls on the Status tab, but purging all notes and recreating is more efficient than purging individual notes for individual hands and then reapplying individual notes to individual hands (sets of hands, but still it would need to be done in a lot of small steps rather than fewer big steps).

I'm sorry for being insistent.
If I Purge my Database up until 3 months ago (30-01-2015), won't the processing of hands in the Auto-Note Status page became quicker?

Thanks

It will still go through each hand at roughly the same pace. Percentage wise it will finish faster if the database is smaller but it won't make any other difference besides removing the potential to get notes from older hands. The hands are processed in reverse time order so it will even get the data in the same order.
