thanks. I followed your steps, now that I've changed my port in the PT2 Utilities window as well, I no longer receive the error shown on the screenshot. Unfortunately, I still get the
"Database transaction information not available.
Call SetTrans or SetTransObject function." error when I try to open ring game stats.

Furthermore, every time I start PT2 now it asks me to enter values for port #5432 (using the utilites window), if I dont enter any values another window pops up named "PostgreSQL connection". It prompts me to enter a password but I cannot change the port. I may also change the database name, SSL mode, and the user name.

It sounds like you are using the POP3 settings window, there is no SSL mode on the PostgreSQL Settings window.

Open the Utilities > PostgreSQL Settings window.

port = 5432
server = localhost
name = postgres
pwd = [whatever your PostgreSQL password was]
ODBC Entry = PostgreSQL Unicode
Encoding = UNICODE

Save the changes then close PT and reopen it. Does it still give an error?

I get a different error now:

Unable to connect to the database.
101-SQLSTATE= 08001
FATAL: database "FULLTILTNL25" does not exist.

When you reinstalled PostgreSQL 8.2, are you sure you unchecked the "Initialize database cluster" box on the window during the install??

Go to the File > Maintain Database Names window. Click the Add button. In the last field choose "Select existing PostgreSQL database" from the list. On the window that opens, are there any database names displayed there? If so, what are their names? If not, then something is wrong, either you didn't reinstall it correctly or the database are in fact gone from this computer.

Im 100% sure I unchecked the box when reinstalling.

The only database listed in the "select existing PostgreSQL database" window is called PT3 DB.

OK, I forgot you didn't uninstall 8.3 but that you installed 8.2 on another port. Open the Utilities > PostgreSQL Settings window again and change the port # to 5433 and save the changes.

You may still get an error when you open PT but that's because all the old ODBC entries are still looking on port 5432.

So open the File > Maintain Database Names window again. Click the Add button, enter a new name/description, check the "Dflt" box and choose "Select existing PostgreSQL database" again. Now when the window opens do you see this other db that was missing before? If so, select it. Click OK to save all changes. CLOSE AND REOPEN PT and then hopefully you will be good to go.

Looks like I'm back - I get the same prompt to enter my postgreSQL information for port 5432 when I try to autoimport hands on FTP. Any ideas?

Go to the Observed Hands tab of the auto-import window and make sure the database selected there is the right PostgreSQL database.
