I was unsure what this step meant in the postgre 8.3 install for Vista. No default choice was selected and you can't continue without choosing one. I checkek the .net option which was at top of list. Does anyone know what these apps are for and if they are necessary? thx

Did you do a manual install of postgres from their website, or is this the PT3 with postgres install?

It is possible to use PT2 with postgres 8.3 (has info about setting up 8.3 in general)

I did a manual install. I read that there was problems with the 8.3 version on Vista. This is why I did the manual install. It seems to work fine. I probably just installed something I don't need, but isn't harmful.
