Postby springz911 » Mon May 26, 2008 4:00 am

i just downloaded Poker tracker 3 but have not purchased it. right away it says...
Unable to create postgresSQL database: pt3 database
Reson unable to login to database(template 1)
reason: could not connect to server: connection refused (0x0000274d/10061) is the server running on host "localhost" and acceptingTCP/IP connections on port 5432

Do you have postgres (the database PT3 uses) installed on your computer?
If not, download and install the "PT3 with postgres" version. There is no need to uninstall the PT3 you already installed, just make sure it's not running.

Please make sure that PostgreSQL is running (Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Start Service) and try again. Are you running Vista? You may need to disable UAC per this tutorial: Tutorial: Vista-How to Disable 'User Account Control' (UAC)

I am having the same problem. I clicked start service and restarted PT3 and get exact same error.

Please advise

Did you have it running ok before, or is this a new install?
Are you on vista (did you read the link above?), or what OS?
When you click start service, does it start? Can you see postgres.exe processes in Task Manager?
