So you installed PostgreSQL by itself prior to PokerTracker 3? I think it will be more hassle to uninstall/reinstall as that leads to issue IMHO.

Lets try removing the need for a password then using the "postgres" username.

Go Start->Program Files->PostgreSQL 8.2->Configuration Files->Edit pg_hba.conf

Scroll to the bottom of the conf file and change the two lines that contain "md5" to "trust".

File->Save. Restart PostgreSQL (or your computer). Then when you are prompted to enter a username, use "postgres" and omit the password field.

Best regards,

Derek

it won't if I understood your earlier posts correctly - I thought you installed postgres but changed the superuser name to "Chaser" - or was that some other account?

That is what we are trying to figure out. It's saying no role is defined for "Chaser" and now "postgres". He must have used some other name, in which case we will have to query PostgreSQL to figure out.

Launch pgAdmin3 which is located in your PostgreSQL\8.2\bin directory. Double click your database server to connet and expand the "Login Roles". What usernames are listed here?

Oops, either I completely overlooked that or saw it previously and forgot (since dealing with so many other topics). Well then that makes no sense to me. That picture clearly shows that role "Chaser".

I assume your pgAdmin3 window still looks identical to that? Listing the role "Chaser"? You did not accidentally do something to that table via pgAdmin did you?

Could you please select "Chaser" under Login Roles so that I can see your account settings in the "Properties" tab?

Best regards,

Derek
