Problem with importing hands

Postby prabs03 » Wed Jan 30, 2008 3:20 am

So I wanted to transfer my entire database of 330k hands over to pt3. I exported the HHs in pt2 to a folder on my desktop, then imported into pt3. However, I seem to be missing MANY of the hands. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to which hands they miss. The majority of the hands I played are at 2/4nl and most of those are missing. I checked and there seemed to be an inordinate amount of duplicated hands. After a while, every file was just a duplicate.

Any ideas why pt3 would have skipped over so many hands? It only ended up importing about 26k hands that I played in, while my total is closer to 130k hands played.

Thanks,

It could be one of many reasons. We have fixed a lot of bugs since the release of beta 2 which will hopefully resolve this. Beta 3 should be released tomorrow sometime. Once released, please create a new database and reimport your hands and see if any are missing. If you are still missing hands, we can proceed to debug the issue from there.

Best regards,

I am also having some hand import issues. Can I assume that you are going to include some type of release manifest / description of bugs fixed in beta 3?

Usually there is a clickable "release notes" next to the download link on th e download page - it reveals a somewhat terse list of fixed things :)

I'm using beta 3 and having this problem. It seems to specifically be with importing FT hands. I exported over 327k hands total, and following import into PT3, there are only 224k hands in the new database.

Also, I should mention that I also tried just converting my PT2 database to PT3, but it got stuck in the middle and only about 20k hands imported.

Did you play all 327k hands? Did you have aliases set in PT2 that you haven't set in PT3?

I have the same problem with party hands when trying to import approx. 16000 hands.
It seems that the hands are imported but not shown.
As an example in the sessions window one session which contains 31 hands is shown with 0 hands (all related calculations like Hands, BB/100are 0).
But in the Session Hands window below the 31 hands are shown.
Overall approx. 2000 hands are shown/not shown like this.
When I import only this single session in a new database everything is fine.

Were these all imported with beta 3? Did you have any crashes during the import?

It was beta 3.
During import everything was fine (no errors). After import it says 2000 hands imported.
I imported all the hands again to another database which already contains 50000 hands and it worked fine.
I can not reproduce this exactly because I did a lot of purge on the database and also played around with the filters.
If I observe it again I try to narrow the problem.
