Ignition Poker Tournament Hand Histories

Postby Jersey77 » Thu Aug 15, 2019 7:15 pm

I tried contacting PT4 Support and did not really receive an answer to a problem I am having. For the community; Has anyone had success in downloading Ignition Poker Tournament Hand Histories from your directory/computer into PT4 and then PT4 generated statistics for those histories? I have tried repeatedly to do the above and have had no success.

Thank you,

DB

A technician replied to you before you posted here - did you try what was suggested there by going to the 'View Stats' section of PokerTracker 4? If you want to view the hands you have imported into PokerTracker 4 then that's where you do it.
Jersey77 (from Support Ticket) wrote:PT4 screenshot showing the 34 files disappearing after my download and I logged-out and then logged-in to PT4

The screenshot you sent is of the 'Import Status' tab and it will only display the status of hands that are imported while PokerTracker 4 is running so if you restart PokerTracker 4 that window will be empty again - this is normal and it doesn't mean the hands that you have previously imported into your database have disappeared.

No you do not. The hand grabber creates hands during live play and at this time only cash games are supported. Tournament support is to follow in a future update.
Jersey77 (from Support Ticket) wrote:Screenshot of Import Configuration Path. The path shown is not where my ignition files are located.

That is exactly how it should be so I recommend not changing anything there. This doesn't apply to you because you are not importing hands while playing but if/when you do that's the folder the hand history files get moved to and this is for performance reasons:

Guide: Processed Files

Hands you manually import (Play Poker -> Get Hands From Disk) stay exactly where they are on your computer and PokerTracker 4 doesn't move them.

Moderator,

I am sure it was an oversight on your part and the technician. But, in my e-mail about the problem
I was having I stated;

"2. Once downloaded, I can't seem to do anything with them for analysis, they are just there."

My apologies, maybe that was not clear enough. What that statement meant was I was unable
to analyze those Hand Histories with any of the programs features (i.e. "View Stats").

The problem still remains. I downloaded Tournament hand histories into PT4 and I cannot do
anything with them. So, the question(s) still remain:

1. Does PT4 have the ability to analyze Ignition Tournament Hand Histories that have been
previously downloaded in a directory on my computer?
2. If PT4 does have this ability, then what I am doing wrong to cause PT4 not to do so?

If I understand your response correctly, PT4 does not store my Ignition Hand Histories within it's database, therefore,
every time I open the program I have to manually re-download all my tournament Hand Histories? Further, there is
no way to store them within the PT4 program, so that when I open the program that can be automatically accessed.

Please excuse my layman's description/understanding of the problems I am having as I am not a technician or moderator
that is intimately familiar the program.

Thank you for your assistance and patience.

How are you unable to analyze those hands? Unfortunately none of the screenshots you sent were from the 'View Stats' section so I am not exactly sure what's going on. Presumably you are not seeing any data at all? Did you try what the technician suggested to you? That was to click on 'View Stats -> T' and to make sure your Ignition name is selected in the top left (the default name is 'Hero'):

Guide: Changing the Active Player

If you just went to 'View Stats' but did not click the 'T' button then you are possibly still in the cash game section of the database ($) so if you have imported only tournament hands you would not see anything there.

Yes. Attach a screenshot of your 'View Stats' window if you are not seeing anything but if you can now see the hands you have imported there are a variety of sections/reports where you can review your stats/hands - see this tutorial video for an example and links to other tutorial videos. These videos can also be accessed while using PokerTracker 4 via the video icon (the green "?" icon) in various sections.

PokerTracker 4 does store all your hands in the database and previously imported hands do not disappear when you restart PokerTracker 4 - only the information displayed in the 'Import Status' window resets when you restart PokerTracker 4.

Hi Poker Tracker 4 Support,

I am reading through this particular forum thread and I am experiencing the same problem as the original post, but I am unable to find a resolution.

In my View Stats page for Ignition (screen shot attached), I have the Active Player set as Hero. The View Stats page shows a few prior Ignition tournaments from June/July 2019, but since these dates, I have played many more Ignition tournaments that are not showing up at all in my View Stats.

I am not trying to configure the HUD for Ignition tournaments, rather, I am only hoping to have these hands in my View Stats so I can analyze them later. I understand there is an alternative with Ignition where one may manually download tournament hand histories, but my hope is to figure out how to get my Ignition tournament hands into my View Stats without having to manually upload because Ignition's delay in download availability is cumbersome.

Can you provide any guidance with respect to why my Ignition tournament hand histories are not importing/available in my View Stats? Thank you.

-Dan

At this time the only way to get those tournaments into PokerTracker 4 is to manually download the hand histories from your Ignition client:

Guide: Manual Import of Ignition Hand Histories

Tournament support is planned for the Ignition Hand Grabber beta so hands can import as you play but this hasn't been implemented yet and you can open a Support Ticket if you want to be notified when this functionality is available.

Is there any specific reason tournament support still hasen't been added? Since cash games are supported and are working well, are tournaments that different/difficult to parse? Has there been any consideration in adding live table scrapping to PT4? There is a ton you could do with PT4 if it was able scrape the table live while the hand is being played instead of afterwards from the history.

Support for downloaded hands has been added. PokerTracker 4 can parse the information in tournament files downloaded from the Ignition client:

Grabbing hands for running tournaments to allow for the use of a HUD like cash games is being worked on but it's not quite the same due to how Ignition works. While a release date is nearer I don't know when it will be ready but you can open a Support Ticket to be notified when it's available.
